Your Bankruptcy Consultation With a Southern California Attorney

What can you expect when first meeting with attorney Jeffrey Hagen?

If you have significant debt and are considering filing bankruptcy, you may feel confused, desperate and fearful. You probably have a lot of questions about the benefits and risks of bankruptcy, as well as general questions about how the process works.

At the Law Offices Of Hagen & Hagen, we understand your concerns and uncertainness, and we know how it important it is to address these concerns right away. That is why we offer no charge in-person or by-phone initial consultations to clients considering filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

During this bankruptcy consultation:

  • You will meet directly with certified bankruptcy lawyer Jeffrey Hagen*.
  • We will not rush you. We believe it is important for you to have your initial questions answered and for you to have ample time to describe your situation to us. We will likely meet with you for over an hour.
  • We will thoroughly explain the bankruptcy process so you know exactly what to expect should you decide to file.
  • We will not pressure you to file bankruptcy. You should not file bankruptcy unless you're comfortable moving forward.
  • We take the time to fully understand your needs.
  • We will not judge you based on passed financial decisions.
  • We will give an honest assessment of your financial situation.

Do you need to bring anything to your bankruptcy consultation?

Generally, no. We understand that you have enough to worry about, such as harassing creditors, possible home foreclosure, wage garnishments, and lawsuits. We do not want to complicate your initial step toward relief by requiring you to bring in information. Instead, we ask you some basic questions about your financial affairs so we can get a thorough understanding of your financial situation. At the end of the meeting, we will give you a list of items to compile in order to start the bankruptcy process.
